Special Session Complete Program on web

The program committee will consider the proposed day and time during session scheduling but is unable to honor all scheduling requests. Accepted sessions will be scheduled to minimize topic overlap and as meeting space and logistics allow. Scheduling will be emailed to session organizers in September. To assist in assignment of a meeting room, organizers are asked to indicate minimum and maximum enrollments.

About Special Sessions

Special sessions concentrate on important topics in Business, X-Events and Analytics, preferably of interest to a relatively large audience.

Each of the sessions will be one hour long. Typically, 4-6 oral presentations only by invitation of the organizers. It should be known that inviting the speakers, managing the review process with the same procedures and deadline, and making accept/reject decisions are the organizer’s role. In special cases, conference committee would ask some changes. Also, organizers will be chair for the session.

In advance of the conference, invited proposers will be required to either submit a paper for inclusion in the proceedings, or to submit an abstract that summarizes the content of the talk, following the regular paper submission deadline.

An accept/reject decision on the proposal will be sent to the proposers via email within a week after its receipt. Also, accepted special sessions will be listed on the website. However, it is likely that an accepted proposal will be combined with similar proposals to avoid multiple special sessions covering a similar topic. A final decision will be made two weeks after the special session proposal deadline.

Example Topics of Special Session

For special session proposals, a wide range of topics is possible, as long as they importantly influence business, X-Events and analytics. Example topics are listed in Topics and Themes page.

Proposal Format

A special session chair should prepare a proposal which normally include the following information.

  • Title of the session

  • Description of the session (aim and scope of the proposed session)

  • The names, contacts (e-mail addresses, affiliations) and short bios of the organizers.

  • List of invited presenters, tentative titles and abstracts for each paper

  • Requested session date: November 23 – 24 (Thursday to Friday)
